Local Matters: Poverty and Place project wrap-up (E14)

In this episode, we reflect on a ground-breaking 18-month research project that has reshaped our understanding of poverty. Partnering with the University of Manchester, Tutor Trust's ‘Poverty and Place: Local Matters’ initiative explores locally contextualised knowledge to challenge conventional views on poverty, drawing on the critical theories of Nancy Fraser and Paul Gorski. We'll also discuss how Lewin's model of change guided our iterative improvements in understanding and addressing poverty. Join us as we discuss the project's impact on our charity, highlight key research findings, and envision how this work will shape our future.

This episode ties into our first two episodes of TutorCast. In Episodes 1 and 2, Poverty and Place, we spoke with Dr. Carl Emery and Dr. Louisa Dawes from the Manchester Institute of Education about how poverty shapes educational outcomes. If you missed them, be sure to check it out for a deeper understanding of the foundational aspects of our research.

Stay tuned for insights from our team, including reflections from CEO Ed Marsh and other key contributors. Don't miss out on this transformative journey! Follow us on social media to stay updated.
